Wow, how time flies!!
Two weeks have gone by since we were altogether in El Salvador. TGT “El Salvador” 2013, is in the memory books – “remember Ian, it’s all about creating memories!” Who can forget a whole week of 6-10 foot waves, 85 degree water, El Salvador’s national drink “Tic-Tat”, new HM Wyatt, El Sunzal, Mayan temples, papusa’s, the other national drink – “pilsner”, Ian’s last stand at Tamanique falls!, fantastic views from Casa Del Mar & Cafe’ Sunzal and shotgun toting guards protecting us “gringos” from the locals. After spending time along the west coast in the La Libertad region we headed to our final surf destination; nestled on the beautiful east coast sits Mira Flores in the town of El Cuco.
Once again the surf was on fire at the point breaks of Los Flores & Punta Mango! The memories continued to stack up: Punta Mango – a break forever etched in Sedy’s mind, the fishing competition [team Wyatt vs team Rob] where team Wyatt smoked the competition even-though there may have been some foul play as team Wyatt fished around the local fishing trawler. Who can forget the “all-female surf team who shredded Los Flores, hanging in El Cuco drinking beers, Sedy buying locally made guitars, Rob’s traditional TGT haircut and finally the 200 steps up/down the cliff to get surf!!
All in all, El Salvador was filled with outstanding surf, memories and life-long friends who don’t always get to see each other during the year except on the annual TGT trip!!!!
Thank you, Boiz & Waterways Travel.
